Off To The Buffalo River This Weekend

????????We’ll be making our annual Memorial Day weekend pilgrimage to the Buffalo River this coming weekend! The weather has finally decided to cooperate in recent days. We’ve had no rain and the temps have jumped up into the mid to upper 80’s. Hopefully the weather will hold out for the weekend.

We plan to stay in the Wollum area which is likely to be a bit crowded. This is a popular time of year to visit and float the Buffalo. Reports from others that were floating this past weekend leads me to believe that the water will be in pretty good shape, barring any heavy rains in the next few days.

I’ll add some pics when I get back home from the trip. Check back in about a week!

    I envy you, I havent had a chance to get out on the water at all yet. Work just stinks sometimes. While eveyone is hitting the streams ive been stuck in a stuffy office. :) Hope you land some nice fish

    OK man, we’re waiting on the pics. I personally need lots of pretty pictures to keep my interest as I read (a hold-over from my elementary school days I guess).

    Talking about a famous place is a very interesting topic and telling others your experience of that place is a very good thing. Making others come to know about that place so that they could also plan their visit at that place if they like it.

    I’ve been wanting to do some canoeing, it’s just that I couldn’t find the time to do so. And the effort to make the trip is a hassle for such a short vacation. Maybe I need to take a week off of work to be able to enjoy all that.

    I honestly hardly know anything about Arkansas but I have to ask if there are white water rapids in Buffalo River? That’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time, and since summer’s here, now’s a good a time as any to do that.

    I come from New Zealand…big contrast. the scenery is similar but there is far less stuff that can kill you.

    Right now I wouldn’t mind for weather to cool off a bit I sometimes fell like I’m melting when I go out and it’s only June so trip to river seems like heaven at the moment. Hope to see those pictures soon.

    I’ve been to Buffalo river once, a 3 day weekend with my friends. There were some great looking cabins there. Hm, still no pics from you and it would be great to see them.
