Smallmouth bass fishing on the Buffalo can be a ton of fun! When we get to float, we I spend probably half my time fishing and half paddling, (depending on how energetic my wife feels :) ) You can catch perch all day long, but the smallmouths can be a bit more of a challenge. I’ve personally had good luck fishing in the shoals where the current is a little stronger, but I’ve caught smallmouth all along the river.

Here is a pretty good video of some guys fishing for smallmouth bass on the Buffalo. It also gives you a good idea of the scenery along this beautiful river. Enjoy!

    Bass fishing is one of the most incredibly peaceful hobbies there is. Bass give you a nice fight and can really get to be nice sizes.

    I actually have gone with my husband three times and my first time I really believed I would die of boredom, I guess watching fishing on TV and actually doing it is just another. Now I love it, but I still do not touch the fish, my husband does that yuck lol ;)

    I love fishing the most. At first i thought fishing for old people wasting time. But actually its a fun activity. You get to fight with fish and the excitement when you really catch one. Fishing the best.

    If fishing is about patience you wont have any fun. You can’t sit out there waiting to catch a fish, you have to sit out there, enjoying the air and the sun and the water, and if a fish comes along, well great.

    Fishing can be so much fun! I fish in Utah, where you are lucky to catch something other than catfish lately. Still, just the feel of the tug on the line is awesome. If they were farm raised catfish I’d eat them for sure.
